Nestled in the Swiss Alps, Davos is a picturesque town renowned for hosting the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF). The town's stunning landscape and idyllic charm provide a fitting backdrop for the convergence of some of the world's most influential leaders in business, politics, and academia.
The WEF, often referred to simply as Davos, is a platform where global challenges and opportunities are discussed and debated, making it a pivotal event in the international calendar. The event has long been synonymous with the gathering of the global elite, where titans of industry and heads of state come together to exchange ideas, broker deals, and address pressing global issues.
Nevertheless, Davos is also known for its after-parties, where speakers and visitors come together to relax and communicate in a convenient atmosphere with a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne or a cocktail. This year, Moonshot decided to join the after-parties tradition and hosted our own 3-day event in Davos, which caught the attention of the world-renowned media.
In their article, CNBC highlighted “the secretive parties of the world’s rich and powerful,” mentioning Moonshot as one that caught their eye.
The Illuminati’s Eye of Providence even made an appearance, as people dressed as monks claiming to work at Moonshot Investor Network, which focuses on alternative investments like private equity, went along the promenade handing out Renaissance-styled scrolls to a select few. When unfurled, the document revealed a secret invitation that read, “YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN,” with a corresponding QR code beneath. One person who followed the rabbit hole further tells CNBC that the QR code linked to a website mentioning seances and rituals. It also involved a few more hoops to traverse, including online puzzles, before the party destination and time was revealed.
“It was a great marketing ploy,” this person told CNBC.
